Heighington Bowls Club

The club was originally formed in the early 1930's by local members of the British Legion and it was known as the Heighington British Legion Club until the Annual General Meeting in October 1977when it was agreed that, owing to the numbers of legion members being only three, the name of the club should be changed to “Heighington Bowls Club”.

The Green
The green is located at station road, Heighington. The headquarters are located in the modern sports pavilion, which is shared with the tennis and football clubs.

Membership
Membership is open to anyone wishing to play the game of flat green bowls. Applications from existing bowlers or complete newcomers to join the club can be made by contacting the secretary who will be only too pleased to answer any questions on how the club is run. Any of the club officials may also be approached for information and they will, if you wish, pass on your enquiry to the secretary.
The membership is made up of a mixture of ladies and gentlemen who reside in a six mile radius of the village.
The club is always looking out to encourage an influx of new members each year and we would be delighted if we could persuade more young people to take up the game.

Subscriptions
The Annual subscription to become a full member of the club is £20. Junior members are asked to pay £5. If you wish to become a member and just take part in social events, the subscription would only be £2.
There is a concessionary rate available for anyone who is disabled or receiving state benefits.

League Participation.
The Club has enters teams in the following leagues:-
Lincoln & District - Premier Division
Cliff - Division 1
City (Afternoon) - Section 'B'
City (Evening) - Section 'D'
In addition to league matches, members compete in the clubs own competitions which are completed on a finals day at the end of the season.
